We all need a Bio (Biography) on our websites so our visitors can see who we are and what we are all about. I am going to show you how a Bio can help you with your business. And also why you need one. Not only that but I want to show you some bio examples to help you create your very own dynamic Bio.
What is a Bio?
A bio is all about you. It’s an About Me/Us page that you should most definitely have on your website or blog. It needs to tell a short story of your history, experiences, interests, and strengths. It’s basically an introduction to your visitors about yourself.
You want your audience to know why you do what you do (internet marketing) How you started and why you started. Included should be a brief description of your personal background.
Where Do I start?
Firstly you need to start with your name.
1. For example: Hi, I would like to introduce myself, my name is (name)
2. Inform them of where you are in the world. I live in (USA) (UK) (India)
3. State what you do online (affiliate marketing) (e-commerce)
4. Add your current position (website owner) (VA) (e-commerce owner)
5. Include your skills and experience (marketing) (research)
6. Mention the brands you use that helps you (social media) (training programs)
7. Explain why you do what you do (internet marketer) (online e-commerce owner)
8. A brief outline of yourself outside work (hobbies) (interests)
9. Include your clickable website address (your website dot com)
11. Likes and dislikes (optional)
12. Use a photograph of yourself
Remember to put the most important information about yourself in the first couple of sentences. This way your reader will identify with you straight away. So it’s not that hard once you have a list of what you want to write about. Remember you don’t have to put all of the above in your bio, just choose the ones that relate to your circumstances.

Why Your Bio is Important
Your bio informs the reader who and what you are and this, in turn, builds trust from your reader. It shows that you are dedicated to what you do as you took the time to write your bio in the first place.
Your bio needs to be on all your profiles, not just one: For example, your website, social media, and any other programs you use that has a bio section. Each bio doesn’t have to be the same you can swap things around a little.
How a Bio Helps Your Business
When you have a bio on your website you are gaining trust from your visitors as they get to know you better. The simple fact is that having a bio helps your business. How you may ask?
When you include clickable links in your bio some people may click on them to see what you have to offer. The visitor may well be interested in your website and offers and share it with other people, either on social media or to their friends by word of mouth.
This can then get you more visitors to your offers and it may well turn into a conversion or sale.
Inter-connect all your bio’s. By that, I mean having a link from your website to your bio on all your social media pages and visa versa.
It’s a good idea to optimize your bio for SEO that way the search engines can find your bio.
Bio Template Examples
“Here are some bio templates to help you if you still feel uneasy about writing your bio. You can elaborate on these bio examples or chop and change them around or just keep them as they are for a short and sweet version of your bio.

Your bios can be written in the 1st person or the 3rd person. I prefer the 1st person for a personal bio. The 1st 2 examples below are in the 1st person. The 3rd and 4th ones are in 3rd person format.
I have taken the company and personal names out for privacy reasons. Other than that the bios are in exactly the same format they were written in.
Personal Bio in 1st person
“Hi, My name is (name) and I am self-taught on the computer and have had various websites but with little success. My wife and I travel and live in an RV full time and I’m trying to supplement my income. I am 80 years of age and we have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, WOW time is moving on.
Personal Bio in 1st person
My name is (name), currently a young 60 and father of two young Adults.
I wanted to learn how affiliate marketing works and be able to start using it myself so that sooner than later I can make enough money to have and give stronger financial support and outlook for my family.
Within a week of being at (company), I created my own website and had it up and running live to the world. Something I never thought possible until I joined (company)
Personal Bio in 3rd person
(Name) is a single mother who is trying to provide her boys with the best education and ensure that she has a stable retirement.
Currently working for the national newspaper in (country) so she is very conversant with the media and current affairs.
Her dream is to live a good life now while also saving for a happy and fulfilling retirement.
She is a hardworking and focused individual who adheres to strict deadlines. I believe she will achieve her goals because once she set her goals she ensures that she achieves them”.
Professional Bio in 3rd person
“(Name) is a professional digital marketer who creates and promotes digital content at Solaris Digital. (Name) has achieved success with well-established companies such as Goldman Sachs, The Body Shop, Nintendo, BBC, Newsweek, and Microsoft, to name a few.
After spending more than 12 years in Digital Marketing with various enterprises, (Name) understands what drives businesses and how to spread brand awareness efficiently for optimum product promotion. He utilizes a brand marketing plan while working closely with clients and ensuring all work-in-progress is clarified. (name) utilizes SEO tools to rank high in search engine indexing and performs various ad-marketing campaigns to generate organic traffic back to your site.
(Name) holds a Master’s Degree in MBA from John Hopkins University in Baltimore. He has several digital marketing certifications including AMA Certified Professional Marketer, DMA certification, Google AdWords certification, and a Hootsuite certification.”
So as you see you can put an array of topics in your bio and it can be as short or as long as you like. Short bios are great for social media whereby longer bios are good for your website.
I personally like to stick to a shortish format. But it is entirely up to yourself.
When creating a bio for your website don’t forget to link it to your social media pages. Also, use links that contain your offers too. I have a link in my bio that links to a fantastic program that has taught me everything I know to date. If you would like to take a look you can go here to get a better insight into this program. Believe me, this is the best training program on the internet today, take it from my honest experience.
Still feeling uneasy about writing your bio. You can outsource it to a website called Fiverr where you can pick and choose someone to write your bio for you.
