What Is The Gigwalk App?

Matt Crampton, Ariel Seidman, and David Watanabe founded Gigwalk in 2010. The company is based in San Francisco, California and its goal is to reinvent the mobile world.

Gigwalk is a mobile app for Android and iOS that allows you to find quick jobs (Gigs) in your area. A Gig is represented by a pin on the map in the mobile application. You can do gigs that take anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours to complete. You will be paid anywhere from $3 to $100 depending on the gig. And will be known as a Gigwalker.

Some of the gigs you may be doing are, for example, taking a photo of a product available at a certain store only, or you may be required to attend a local restaurant, have a meal and provide a detailed description of the service, food, etc.

When a customer sees that you consistently do good work for them, they have the ability to add you to their private workforce. This grants you access to private Gigs available only for this group.

The employer may give you points(Street cred) which means that you have done a good job. As you complete more tasks, you’ll build street cred. Then after you gather enough points, you will be allowed to benefit from higher-paying gigs.

Most of these activities usually involve taking a picture using the Gigwalk app and doing some minor data entry to describe certain things you have noticed.

Some gigs require you to do take a panoramic view photo, to do this you must download the Photosynth app for your particular phone type (Android or IOS).

Gigwalk is a particularly handy app if you live in a large city. The reason being you can apply for more gigs in that area to maximize your earnings. You can simply walk around town doing gigs and make a potential income of up to $100 a day.

If you live outside town then you will be using up your gig money on fuel or public transport before you have even been paid. But if you strategically plan your gigs you can make it worthwhile.

And it’s definitely no good if you live in a rural or country area where there will be no gigs available.

Apply for Gigs through the map or Gig List. After being accepted, follow the Gig instructions and submit your work directly in the app.

Watch the video below to see one man doing some gigs and an interview with Matt Crampton, one of the owners and founders of the Gigwalk App.

Getting The Most Out Of Your Gigwalk App

  1. To make the most out of your Gigwalk App and boost your Gigwalk performance score and earn as much extra cash as possible. Always be thorough and professional about the work that you do and submit.
  2.  To maximize your earning potential, try and complete every gig in a timely manner and don’t apply or accept a gig you don’t think that you can do.
  3. Raise your performance score by doing plenty of gigs in your area. The more gigs that you do the greater the performance score. (Street cred)

Here are what some people said about Gigwalk for you to take a look at.

Great way to earn an extra $$. Be sure to read the requirements before choosing a gig to ensure that you provide what is needed when it is needed.
Finished a few gigs and have been paid for them except for one that is practically impossible to do. Taking a picture of every register is hard. All the work completed by their standards pays fairly quickly.
You are out and about anyway, Gigwalk makes it easy to make money while you are doing everyday errands. The updated version is even better, more user-friendly and I have noticed they are quick to respond to requests than before.

Gigwalk Complaints

There seem to be quite a few complaints about the Gigwalk App. The most common ones are with the app itself.

This app used to assign you any job on the map if you reserve it before somebody else. Now they’ll only assign you jobs within 5 miles from your location when you apply for the gig. I now make a fraction of what I used to make every month. Not really worth it anymore.
The proprietary camera function crops my photos AFTER I submit my work and have left the area, rendering the jobs worthless and unpayable. If you like doing work for free, by all means, sign up. But if you actually want to make some money, look elsewhere.
I downloaded the app and tried to register. I never received the initial email. So I tried to register again and it said my account was Active. Then I tried to reset the password and it sent the reset link, reset and tried to log in and got an error that my account was Inactive. I am uninstalling as it doesn’t seem to work.

What Is The Gigwalk App – Conclusion

For anyone living in a big city or near a big city, this is a great way to earn some extra income. You have nothing to lose by installing the app to your phone and do gigs when they are suitable for your time frame.

Here is a Gigwalker who has earned $7,301 in just 3 months. Which boils down to a full-time income.

I like the Gigwalk App. It is a legitimate app for people to install and use to make some extra money. I think it has huge potential for Gigwalkers.

As I said earlier if you put the time in and do as many gigs as possible like the man in the video above. You could potentially make a lot of money.

But if you are just after making a few dollars on the side then, by all means, do the gigs in your own time frame.

Do I recommend the Gigwalk App?

The Best Way To Make An Income Online

Although you can make money with the Gigwalk App you still have to do the gigs to get paid. It is not a recurring income.

I always suggest that to make a recurring or passive income you have to choose programs that will let you do just that. The programs that give you a passive income are nearly always membership sites.

I belong to a membership site that has allowed me to make a recurring income by referring others to this fantastic internet training platform called Wealthy Affiliate.

Don’t worry about your membership fee with Wealthy Affiliate as there is a comment section where you can earn credits for leaving comments on other people’s websites. Which can then be exchanged for money to cover some or all of your membership fee.
